Les Misérables is the story of many people, but the line that binds them together is the story of the ex-convict Jean Valjean, who becomes a force for good in the world, however he cannot escape his past. Valjean was arrested and sent to prison for 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread and frequently trying to escape. After his release he searches for a place that will take him in and feed him. His luck turns when he meets M. Myriel a kind bishop who forces Valjeans hand and makes him promise to change his ways. He begins his own business and takes in an employee named Fantine. Fantine has a daughter who she left with another family so that she could find work. When Fantine dies after being ill and from the shock of learning Valjean's identity, Valjean makes it his duty to watch after her daughter Cosette. From there begins Valjean’s life changing journey through parenthood and the discovery of what it’s like to live selflessly, with nothing but a loved one in mind.
Les Miserables covers every aspect of an enthralling novel; you have romance, action, tragedy, and even suspense. This page turner has been transformed into one of the world’s most famous, and longest running plays. You know it’s a good book when it’s one of culture’s most celebrated works. Victor Hugo has been known to write literary masterpieces, such as “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” which was turned into a very popular Disney movie. Success ran all through Victor Hugo’s life, and didn’t stop at the creation of Les Miserables. A definite read that will be enjoyed by all.

Jardin du Luxembourg
This famous garden has been around for centuries; with over one hundred statues, monuments, and fountains it’s surely a place you shouldn’t miss out on visiting! In 1612 the widow of King Henry VI, Marie de Medicis, had begun feeling homesick of her home in Florence, and had a garden constructed that reminded her of one she played in as a child. Thus began a historical landmark, and not to mention its extravagant beauty. This garden is not only known for its marvelous display of shrubbery, but also as a landmark site in the popular novel, Les Misérables; where young Cosette and Marius Pontmercy meet for the first time, and thus begins their love story.

Jean Valjean would of wrote this to see all that he has done, therefore to prove to himself he has became a better person ..
He did many of these acccomplishements with passion, faith, and hope.
List of accomplishments I've done:
(To becoming a better person)

ü Saved Fauchelevent from horse carriage
ü Let Javert go instead of killing him
ü Saved Cosette’s love, Marius
ü Turn himself in as the real Jean Valjean
ü Did not fire Javert, when he insisted on he did
ü Took Cosette away from the Thenadiers as promised and raised her
ü Did not arrest Fantine for soliciting

This letter would have been written to M.Myriel from Jean Valjean to thank him for all he has done to help him ( Valjean)
become who is he now and brighthened his future with a daughter. Myriel gave Valjean someone to love and a purpose to live.
Also Myriel gave Valjean a second chance, when no one else would.. The silver candlesticks that Myriel gave him were the reason
why Valjean changed into an honest being.

Obituary of Jean Valjean when he passed away shortly after Cossette married Marius.
